Event to encourage confidence to invest

An up-to-the minute report on the state of international and UK investment markets and the most viable opportunities available to business owners unsure of what to do with deposited funds, will be unveiled by guest speakers at a Survival event for local businesses hosted by The Wilson Organisation.

‘The investing your assets' lunchtime session, the final event in Wilsons' series of ‘Survival to Success' seminars, takes place on the 24th June at The Carriage Hall, Perkins Restaurant, Nottingham.

Investment specialist of Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, Scott Dakers, will deliver an honest commentary of the current state of the investment market, his views on why and how the market has behaved the way it has over the last 12 months of the credit crunch, and will highlight some of the most realistic investment opportunities and tactics going forward as well as the future challenge for investors.

Simon Hellier, non-executive director of Wilsons, will investigate the latest thinking behind the behavioural aspects of investment and the thought processes and steps individuals could and should take to maximise these opportunities. "Action on investing assets is what is required now," he says. "Even in the current climate, there is still money about, but in the main this is being kept on deposit with individuals and businesses understandably unsure of where to invest in the current turbulent times.

"However, to do nothing is the worst decision individuals could take, as things will happen but without their control; by far the best route is to take sound financial and investment planning advice to take control and investment action with deposits," says Simon.

Annabel Prow, Wilsons' Joint MD and CEO of the firm's Financial Services Company, adds: "This seminar provides the ideal conclusion to our series of Survival events created and run for local businesses, that have served to assist them in keeping fit for business in the current climate, by providing timely and relevant support, guidance and innovative financial solutions as they look forward to sustaining success out of the downturn."

The ‘Survival to Success' seminar takes place on Wednesday 24th June 2009, from 12 noon to 2.15pm, at The Carriage Hall, Perkins Restaurant, Nottingham, and includes lunch.
