Explore doing business with Russia at event
A free event dedicated to giving companies an insight into the prospects of doing business with Russia is in the West Midlands for the first time next week.
The Russia Midlands Business Club, co-hosted by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), insurance and financial advisers The Wilson Organisation and law firm Cobbetts LLP is the only initiative of its kind run outside London and comes to Birmingham on the 7th May 2009.
Jon Edwards, Senior Manager CEE, International Business Development of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) is guest speaker at the Club's first West Midlands meeting. He is responsible for developing the LSEs business in Russia and promoted both the main market and AIM to Russian and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) companies and advisors.
Anna Sinelnikova, Wilson's Russian-born international financial adviser and brainchild of the Club, explains: "The Russia Business Club is designed to facilitate opportunities for businesses across the region, and investigate and identify prospects for trading with Russia. Now, more than ever, businesses must seize international opportunities and in particular, the demand in Russia for Western goods and expertise.
"The Club is the perfect opportunity for companies either thinking of trading or indeed already trading with Russia, to meet and discuss these opportunities. Whilst this is the first time the Club will meet in the West Midlands, we have already had three meetings in the east of the region, each voted as an extremely useful networking event and great information-gathering exercise for any firm, large or small, interested in doing business in Russia."
