Two financial specialists join Wilsons

Specialist financial advisers Stuart Startup and Lee Westley have joined the Financial Services Division of The Wilson Organisation, the Nottingham-based independent insurance broker and financial adviser.

The two key hires demonstrate the firm's commitment to maximising its expertise and skills in specific areas of the financial services arena in preparation for changes soon to be introduced by the Chartered Institute of Insurers (CII).

Wilsons Annabel Prow, CEO and MD of the firm's Financial Services Division, explains: "Having a good reputation for a high level of professionalism, expertise and an excellent service is at the core of our business.

"Wilsons is constantly looking to develop the skills and knowledge of our Financial Services team across the key areas for both individuals and corporate clients. Stuart and Lee each brings valuable additional experience and typify our commitments to maximising expertise in specific skilled areas of the financial services arena and continuing to grow the business."

Stuart Startup will focus on financial and tax planning matters for private clients, bringing with him a wealth of experience in this specialised area; he joins Wilsons after five years with Insync, the Financial Planning arm of the West Bromwich Building Society, prior to which he was with Lloyds TSB.  He has a Diploma in Financial Planning from the CII.

"This is an interesting and challenging time for advisers and their clients alike, with developing legislation around areas such as Inheritance Tax issues," he says. "I'm looking forward to working with Wilsons and building on its strong reputation for its client-focussed approach and excellent service."

Lee Westley joins Wilsons after three years with specialist pension planning and wealth management company Mattioli Woods. In his new role at Wilsons, Lee will focus on assisting individuals, company directors and owner managed businesses to implement retirement and wealth management strategies for their key executives and employees, in particular, Self Invested Personal Pension's (SIPP), Small Self Administered Scheme's (SSAS) and employee benefit packages.

"Wilsons is an ambitious, well respected and forward thinking organisation which provides an excellent platform for me to take advantage of the various opportunities which are emanating in our industry as a result of the ongoing economic slowdown and future recovery.  I am delighted to be part of the team," he says.
